Acer Iconia A100 vs Nook Color: Initial Thoughts

Here’s what I’ve found so far in my day or so with the Acer Iconia A100:

-While the displays are fairly similar resolution and pixel density-wise, the screen responsiveness of the A100 is much better.

-The speakers on the A100 blow the Nook Color away. When watching videos on the NC, I would often have to cup my hand around the speaker so the sound would come out towards me.

-So far, I can’t find much benefit of Honeycomb over Gingerbread. It looks nicer and maybe runs a bit smoother but I haven’t found much else to make it much of a plus.

-The back of the NC is far superior to that of the A100

-Although I like having two cameras, I will probably never use them (except to test them out).

-No Netflix on the A100 (bit of a bummer).

I’ve only really used the A100 for about an hour so far and a good amount of that was used for reading. I’ll play more this weekend and post a follow-up.
